About SPOSS
The Society for the Promotion of Science and Scholarship (SPOSS) is a nonprofit publisher of scholarly books. It was founded in 1976 by the late J. Murray Luck, for many years Professor of Chemistry at Stanford University. With interests primarily in European and British studies, SPOSS has had a mandate from the start to publish works of high scholarly excellence but more specialized than larger publishing houses would consider viable. In addition to works by single authors, SPOSS has also undertaken a series of multi-author works on European countries in the contemporary period.
